Banner Urgent Care set to open in Windsor

Banner Urgent Care in Windsor announced today it will be the community’s only health clinic to specialize in urgent care medicine when it begins seeing patients Jan. 6.

The clinic, located at 1300 Main St. in the Banner Health Clinic, will utilize existing space at the clinic to offer urgent care services after normal business hours during the week and on the weekends, according to Betty Patterson, public relations director for Banner Medical Group’s Western region.

The clinic will be open from 5-9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekends.

“Urgent care providers see patients with acute illnesses or minor injuries that need to be addressed when the primary care provider isn’t available,” said Jenn Smith , practice manager for Banner Urgent Care. “Patients see their primary care physicians for continuous management of chronic diseases, wellness management, and for acute illnesses that can be seen during regular office hours.”

The initial urgent care space will include four patient rooms and a procedure room, and staff will be able to utilize additional rooms if needed, Smith said.

“Initially, our staff model in Windsor will include one provider, medical assistant, and patient financial services representative who will be at the front desk,” Smith said. “We will regularly monitor patient volume and make adjustments as needed in order to best care for our patients.”

Urgent care services provided at the clinic will include minor trauma and wound care, breathing treatments, minor orthopedic care and treatment of any health concern that can’t wait until the following day.

Some benefits of urgent care services include convenience of walk-in and after-hours appointments, communication between your urgent care provider and your personal physician, access for out-of-town patients and reasonable cost when compared with a hospital emergency room visit, according to a news release announcing the new clinic.

“Windsor residents deserve convenient, high-quality medical care,” Smith said. “We are happy that Banner Health is able to fill the need in this community for urgent care services.”

This will be the third Banner Urgent Care location in northern Colorado. Other clinics include Summit View Medical Commons , 2001 70th Ave. , Suite 110 in Greeley and Skyline Urgent Care , 2555 E. 13th St., Suite 110 in Loveland.
