ROOFING AD SIGN CUT UP AND PLACED ON DOOR STEP
At 6:01 p.m. Jan. 1, police were called to the 500 block of Locust Street regarding suspicious activity. The reporting party told police that someone destroyed the roofing advertisement sign that was displayed in her front yard. The sign was cut in half and several holes were stabbed through the sign, which was left on the woman’s front door step. Someone knocked on her door and left the sign there, but the woman didn’t see who did it.
DON’T WALK ON THE ICE AT WINDSOR LAKE
At 1:14 p.m. Jan. 5, police were called to Windsor Lake to check on a juvenile on the ice. Police found footprints leading off the ice and a group of men walking through the park. The men — one 40, one 45 and the other 50 — admitted to being on the ice. Police asked them if they knew how thick the ice was, and they said about four inches and that they had cleared away some of the snow so they could look through the ice to judge its thickness. Police told them that the Town of Windsor didn’t allow people on the ice of town-owned lakes. The men seemed surprised and told police that they often walk around on the ice. Police advised them to stay off the ice.
