The organization Look Both Ways is accepting four-person team registrations until Wednesday for their third annual 21st Century Trivia Bowl Fundraiser.
It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 1 at the University of Northern Colorado Centerra Campus, 2915 Rocky Mountain Ave., in Loveland. Registration costs $140.
Look Both Ways began in 2006 to educate youth of all ages on sexual health and to empower them by teaching them about eating disorders, bullying, and decision making, among others.
The proceeds will mainly go toward an annual spring youth conference themed “Respect yourself. Protect yourself,” and to pay for high school educational textbooks about reproductive health written by founder Betsy Cairo, who is also a reproductive biologist and teaches undergraduate and graduate classes at UNC.
“This fundraiser is a good time for everyone to come out, have fun, and help a good cause,” Cairo said.
Trivia bowl categories include food, U.S. states, entertainment, sports, things you should know by 10th grade, and a potpourri — a mix of all categories.
The trivia bowl will be double elimination and participants have a chance to win an iPad.
Last year’s trivia bowl raised $1,800 and this year the organization is hoping for more.
“We have had decent turnouts in the past but with more advertisements and awareness, we are expecting a bigger turnout this year,” Cairo said.
