Weld County director of finance and administration resigns

Monica Daniels-Mika, Weld County’s director of finance and administration, announced Thursday she will resign from her position with the county.

Mika, who has worked for Weld County for 20 years, will leave her position Feb. 14, according to a news release.

Mika could not be reached for comment Thursday but, according to the release, she is leaving the county to pursue a career outside of local government.

Mika started with Weld in 1993 as a county planner and worked her way up to director of planning services. She was promoted in 2007 to director of administrative services, a role which later evolved into director of finance and administration.

Jennifer Finch, spokeswoman for Weld County commissioners, said commissioners today will likely decide on a direction regarding how to fill Mika’s position.

She said Mika’s salary is $194,584 per year.

“The number of years Monica has spent with the county is admirable,” said Weld County Commission Chairman Doug Rademacher in a statement. “She has worked closely with numerous departments on a variety of projects including the county Employee Medical Clinic and the Weld County Jail. We wish her the best in her new endeavor.”
