Every two years the Windsor Town Board reviews and adopts a mission statement that outlines the purpose of our local government. The mission statement reads:
“The Town of Windsor strengthens community through the fiscally responsible and equitable delivery of services, support of hometown pride, and encourages resident involvement.”
The 100 Town full-time employees and multitude of part-time employees are critical to fulfilling this mission. Without this human resource, the mission would be impossible to carry out. And our employees are the best in helping meet this mission. The employees have followed a program that institutes P.R.I.D.E. in the work every day. The acronym stands for
» Producing Results;
» Dedication; and
» Exceptional Service
In order to integrate P.R.I.D.E., the employees have developed a peer recognition program. Every month, peer recognitions by employees are reviewed and acknowledged in the Town organization. The monthly recognitions culminate in an annual recognition of the “PRIDE of Windsor” employee(s).
For 2013, there were several nominations submitted for extraordinary accomplishments by Windsor employees throughout the year. While the selection was difficult, the Town of Windsor employees selected the “PRIDE of Windsor” to be Rob Winter, Charwon Walter, and Brian Rowe from the Public Works Department for their services during the September flood event. Here is a summary from their nomination:
“Brian Rowe, Rob Winter, Charwon Walter went above and beyond during the flood event in September 2013. They worked together with Excel Energy to strategize a solution to a flooded transformer box serving the Poudre Heights subdivision, and then implemented building a berm and pumping out water to dry the box. What would have been a five or more day power outage was reduced to less than one day, thanks to the ingenuity and hard work of these individuals.”
The PRIDE Committee decided that their nomination was the outstanding project of the year and Charwon, Rob, and Brian will hold the PRIDE of Windsor title for all of 2014.
