After candidate deadline, Windsor-Severance Re-4 School Board seats have one race and two uncontested
September 11, 2015
The deadlines have come and gone and candidates for the Windsor-Severance Re-4 School Board have filed their petitions creating a race in only one seat.
Three seats — director districts B, D and E — on the five-member school board will go up for election this November. Director districts B and E each have only one candidate, but district D has three all vying for the school board.
In district D, recently appointed board member Jennifer Lieber, Tiffany Herrington and Kristen Hice all turned in completed petitions.
Lieber, Herrington and Hice each applied for appointment to the board's district D seat in August after Rick Klimek resigned in July. After the board interviewed the applicants, it voted unanimously to appoint Lieber to the seat until the November election.
Lieber, Herrington and Hice all met with Superintendent Dan Seegmiller and school district election official Sherry Hoffman Tuesday to determine the order of their names on the ballot.
Drawing numbers from a bowl, the candidates determined Herrington's name would appear first, then Hice's followed by Lieber's.
