Casino Royale-themed auction to support Promises for Children

Weld County residents will have the chance to join United Way of Weld County in supporting children's well-being all over the country by playing casino games and eating food this weekend.

United Way's annual auction fundraiser will take place from 5:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Island Grove Events Center, 501 14th Ave.

The proceeds will aid United Way of Weld County's Promises for Children, Weld County's Early Childhood Council with a mission to improve the well-being of children around the country.

The event will be hosted by K99's Good Morning Guys, Brain Gary and Todd Harding. Power Services Co. will sponsor the event. This year's auction will be themed Casino Royale. The event will include a cash bar, silent auction, dinner, live auction and casino games for $50 per person, or $400 for a table of 10.

The silent and live auction will feature over 200 items, among the items will be guitars autographed by Bruce Springsteen, Led Zeppelin and Eric Clapton, an autographed football by John Elway, a one-week stay in a deluxe one-bedroom suite at Hacienda Cerritos located near Cabo, Mexico, a People's Choice Awards package in Los Angeles and a Muhammad Ali autographed boxing glove.
