Leah Bornstein

Aims Community College President Leah Bornstein earned a 4.5 percent salary increase and the added benefit of a 403b retirement account as part of a three-year contract extension the Aims Board of Trustees approved last week.

The contract extension comes two and a half years after Bornstein was picked to replace former President Marsi Liddell, and the extension runs through June 30, 2020.

"I am honored and thrilled to continue to serve such an outstanding institution and community," Bornstein said in a news release this past week. "I look forward to many more years together."

Bornstein now will earn $230,015 per year, a 4.5 percent increase from her previous annual salary of $220,110.

Aims spokeswoman Laura Coale said there are no built-in raises as part of the extension, as Aims trustees evaluate Bornstein's performance annually.

Trustees did extend an added benefit of a 403b retirement program, which means tax-free retirement investments for Bornstein.
