Community Foundation awards grants to more than 10 Weld County youth programs

The Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County awarded $45,950 in grants to more than 10 youth-oriented programs in Weld County. This is the 124th distribution of grants from the Littler Youth Fund.

Grants went to programs including:

» The Billie Martinez/Maplewood Elementary Schools book program "Book Trust."

» Catholic Charities' Guadalupe Shelter Children Always Learning Lab.

» Colorado Humanities' Young Chautauqua and Community Grief Center's Camp Braveheart for Weld youth.

» Greeley Transitional House's children/adolescent program.

Hubert and Mary Littler established the Littler Youth Fund in 1972. Since the Fund began making quarterly distributions in 1986, it has awarded more than $3 million in grants for youth programs. Each application is reviewed by a committee consisting of Community Foundation Board Members, community members and local high school students.
