Employment Services of Weld County seeks employers to participate in Teen Job Fair

Staff reports

Employment Services of Weld County is seeking employers to participate in the Teen Job Fair from 5 to 7:30 p.m. March 8 at Island Grove Event Center.

Hundreds of young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 are expected to attend the event, now in its 17th year. Employers will offer a variety of jobs, internships and other resources.

Weld employers provide a diverse selection of jobs to young adults each summer, including full-time and part-time seasonal jobs, volunteer opportunities and internships.

The Teen Job Fair is offered as a part of the Governor's Summer Job Hunt, which links classroom learning with on-the-job experience. Employment Services assisted thousands of young people in their summer job search last year. The program is a collaborative effort with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

"This program has helped more than half a million young people since it began in 1981," said Steve Wright, Governor's Summer Job Hunt Coordinator. "Everyone has stories to tell about their first summer job experience. We want to help make sure that the thousands of teens we assist this summer will have good stories to recount in the years ahead."
