GOOD FOR YOU: Two spellers move on to state spelling bee

Presley Peterson of Windsor Middle School placed first in the Windsor-Severance Re-4 School District spelling bee on Feb. 18 at Severance Middle School.

Daniel Daley of Severance Middle School placed second in the contest.

Presley and Daniel will represent the school district at the state spelling bee in Denver later this month.

Peterson's winning word was superfluous, while Daley's last word was demarcate.

Third place was shared by Alyson Ly from Windsor Middle School and Will Loecke from Range View Elementary School in Severance.

Fourth place was shared by Zoe Sharpee from Severance Middle School and Brookelle Otte from Windsor Middle School.

Thirty-nine spellers participated in the contest, spelling approximately 140 words correctly during the 15 rounds.
