Greeley man, Broomfield woman identified after Monday fatal crash in Loveland

Staff reports

The Larimer County Coroner has identified a Greeley man who died in a crash east of Loveland late Monday as Mark Edwin Stults.

Stults, 44, was driving a 2014 Toyota Tacoma pickup in the 7000 block of East Eisenhower Boulevard, which also is U.S. 34, when he collided with a 2006 Kia Rio, driven by a 21-year-old Breanna Boddy of Broomfield.

Police stated the Toyota was traveling west in the eastbound left lane of East Eisenhower Boulevard at the time of the crash. Larimer and Weld County dispatchers had received calls about a vehicle westbound in the eastbound lanes shortly before the crash. Additionally, several motorists traveling east avoided the pickup as it traveled the wrong way, a news release stated.

The Toyota collided head-on with the Kia, which was headed east in the left lane. Based on initial observations, it is believed speed, alcohol and/or drugs are a factor in the collision, the release stated.

The Larimer Coroner stated the cause of death for Boddy was blunt-force injuries to her head. Stults died of blunt-force injuries to his torso, the Larimer Coroner release stated.
