Greeley Tennis Carnival free for elementary school kids from 1-3 p.m. today

Tennis Carnival free for elementary school kids from 1-3 p.m. today

Greeley will be the place to be for elementary school kids who want to participate in the Greeley Tennis Carnival from 1-3 p.m. today at Centennial Park tennis courts, 23rd Avenue and 22nd Street.

According to a news release from the Colorado Tennis Association, the carnival is free and children will learn handling kid-sized racquets and balls in a variety of tennis games and activities.

Players from the University of Northern Colorado men's and women's tennis teams will give instructions and demonstrations. Food, drink and tennis racquets will be provided. Face painters, balloon makers and Klawz, the UNC mascot, will provide entertainment off the courts. The event is sponsored by the city of Greeley, UNC, the Work Out West gym, the Colorado Tennis Association, SkyBlu frozen yogurt and equipment producer Babolat.

Town handing out water audit kits

The town of Windsor is giving residents a chance to easily reduce water use and water bills in the dry spring and summer months.

Through April 30, residents can pick up a free residential water audit kit, which includes several water-saving appliances and tools. Kits will be available at the town hall and the recreation center. Those who plan to pick up a kit also needs to provide their utility account numbers to authorize the town to monitor water usage for the next year for "evaluation purposes," according to a news releases.
