Greeley-Weld County Airport to host art competition open to all Weld County students

The Greeley-Weld County Airport will host an art competition open to all Weld County students.

The competition's theme is the art of flight. Art can reflect the nature of flight from any viewpoint, according to a news release.

Students must go through their art teachers to enter the competition. The teachers will choose and submit the work. Two works of art are allowed per school per grade.

There will be a first, second and third place in three grade categories, which includes grades K-12th.

There will be cash awards and recognition at the reception Feb. 20. Winning art will be professionally framed by Doug's Hang Up, 818 9th St., in Greeley and displayed at the airport for one year. Teachers of the winners will also be given a cash award.

All artwork must be submitted by Feb. 11. There is no fee to enter.
