Greeley’s annual Holocaust memorial event set to begin Sunday
April 20, 2017
This year's Voices from the Holocaust — Greeley's annual memorial event — will begin Sunday.
The featured speaker, Steen Metz, who survived the Holocaust, will share his story with several audiences throughout the weeklong event. Metz was 8 years old when, on Oct. 2, 1943, he and his family were arrested and deported from their home in Odense, Denmark, to the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp in the Czech Republic. Of the many children who passed through the camp, Metz is one of the few who survived, according to the Voices from the Holocaust website.
