LETTER TO EDITOR: Windsor Beacon sales pitch rings familiar tone

Windsor Beacon sales pitch rings familiar tone
We have a question for you. We arrived in Windsor in February 2010, and on our first day here we received a parking ticket for trying to be courteous to our neighbors by parking our large moving truck with two wheels slightly on the sidewalk in front of our new home. We had driven more than 3,000 miles to get to our new home and what a welcome? Instead of becoming upset, we accepted we were in a small town and moved on.
We initially were receiving both Windsor Now! and Windsor Beacon, but since Windsor Beacon was more small-town oriented news, we subscribed to them.
When we called to subscribe to Windsor Beacon, we commented to the person over the phone, "we would like to have some Beacon with our morning eggs." The person laughed and took our subscription.
Today, we find this sales pitch promoted throughout Windsor Beacon. Prior to 2010, you will not find this pitch anywhere in Windsor Beacon. When we called to find out their source for this sales pitch, the person on the phone informed us it was "the brainchild of their editor."
As an editor, how do you feel about plagiarism?
