New salon Studio NineSevenO adds a trendy touch to Windsor

Studio NineSevenO owners Christie Lind, Sarah Tracy and Kerrie Chacon pose in their salon. Studio NineSevenO opened last September to offer clients a pampered salon experience.

Glamour chic with a natural touch is the way Studio NineSevenO's owners describe their new salon.

With more than 10 years experience, owners Kerrie Chacon, Sarah Tracy and Christie Lind came together to open a salon where clients would feel pampered while receiving quality service.

This past September, Studio NineSevenO, 1180 Main St., #4, Windsor, took over the location that was previously George Carl Salon and renovated it to better fit the owners' styles and personalities.

"Us three coming together to open a salon was the best thing because of our similar personalities, values and vision," Tracy said.

The women completed renovations in one month, with much of the artwork and design done by themselves, including a green wall, more than 80 plants, a tree wall and a vintage hairbrushes and accessories wall.

The owners said they are enthusiastic about being part of Windsor and providing salon services to the community.

"Windsor is a great community that is family-orientated and small, but very up-and-coming," Lind said.

In October, the salon hosted a shampoo blow out event called Cancer Blow Out, and raised $1,500 for cancer research, an event they plan to host again this year.

From 6-8 p.m. April 27th, Studio NineSevenO will host a free Spring is in the Hair event to teach styling and braiding techniques.

"The event is a way for us to give back to clients and their friends and to get to know the community," Chacon said. "It's also a way to help out moms who may need a little extra help."

Studio NineSevenO has eight master stylists, all with more than seven years experience.

"We are all very supportive of each other, especially in such a female-dominant industry," Tracy said.

The salon also caters to male clients, and the owners said they want to create and environment comfortable for them, too. To meet that goal, men are offered a steamed towel and scalp and shoulder massage with haircuts. Women receive a scalp massage and paraffin hand dip.

The owners said they think the salon's new and trendy look is what sets them apart from other salons in Windsor.

"It was just what Windsor needed," Lind said.
