Northern Colorado Soccer Club to partner with Rush Soccer
March 30, 2017
The Northern Colorado Soccer Club — the Bootleggers — announced this month it will partner with Rush Soccer, the largest youth soccer organization in the world.
NCSC will become Northern Colorado Rush starting with the 2017-18 season with all the attendant benefits.
Chief among those is access to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, the training program affiliated with the national team. According to its website, 89 percent of players called up to the U.S. Youth National Team have come through the development academy.
It's also sent 19 players to the Men's National Team.
Northern Colorado Rush players will also have access to Rush Select, an international all-star competition for U13-U17 players, U12 camps, a college advisory program to help youth players pick the right school, and reduced travel and lodging costs.
"Our goal is to become the premiere soccer club in Northern Colorado," Northern Colorado Rush director of coaching Garry Guyan said in a statement. "Partnering with Rush will provide our current and future members with uniqye soccer playing and development opportunities…Rush Soccer has unlimited resources that will help us achieve our goal."
The club will keep the Bootlegger mascot that it's used since its inception in 1978, but it will get new kits as part of the transition.
Its existing financial assistance and scholarship programs will also continue.
