Pelican Lakes Golf & Country Club opens golf simulators at sports bar

Pelican Lakes Assistance Superintendent Jeff Orr hits a tee shot on the second fairway at Kapalua Bay in the Arnold Palmer simulator room.

Pelican Lakes Golf & Country Club in the Water Valley community of Windsor has installed three golf simulators inside its new sports bar, The Sand Bar, that allow people to play over 80 golf courses from around the world.

The bar, as well as the restaurant and golf course, are open to the public seven days a week.

Along with its three golf simulators, The Sand Bar also features 19 TVs, custom tables, booths and finishes, and one of its eight beers on tap is the club's very own beer, Pelican Lakes Lager.

Each simulator is identified by a different professional golfer. The Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus simulators are situated next to each other while the Fred Funk VIP simulator is isolated in its own private room.

"The idea behind the Funk room is to provide an intimate room for private parties," Water Valley CEO Martin Lind said. "The ambiance in the room is unprecedented and honors what we're trying to do here, which is give people the ultimate golf experience."
