Weld County Commissioners seek Bright Futures Board members
May 24, 2017
The Board of Weld County Commissioners seeks applicants for the creation of the Bright Futures Board of Directors.
Bright Futures is a scholarship program, formed by county commissioners, with the goal of better developing Weld's workforce.
It promises money for college to Weld County high school graduates, as well as honorably discharged veterans.
The Bright Futures Board of Directors will provide policy guidance for the program going forward and will create and implement a fundraising and marketing plan to support the program, according to a Weld County news release.
"Applicants should be passionate about the successful development of Weld County's work force," according to the release.
The board will consist of seven members, including two Weld County commissioners, a Workforce Development Board member and an Upstate Colorado Economic Development member.
That leaves three seats for residents. The three initial appointments will have staggered terms of one, two and three years, and subsequent terms will be three years and will be appointed by the Bright Futures Board.
This is an unpaid position.
If you are interested in serving on the Bright Futures Board of Directors, go to http://www.weldgov.com/government/boards_and_commissions or email Karla Ford at email@example.com. Applications are due by 5 p.m. June 2.
