The Weld County GOP set up a site to take donations down to the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, where residents continue to pull their lives back together in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

Donations can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday at Skip and Ida Carlson's Farmers Insurance office, 2990 29th St., Unit 1, in Greeley. They're requesting diapers, baby formula, hand sanitizer, nonperishable foods, bottled water, new socks or sweat suits, new towels and bedding and more.

For after-hours drop off, call Ida at (970) 396-9270. Nicole Lauck, president of Greeley Republican Women, is also offering to pick up donations. She can be reached at (970) 415-0546.

Lauck said when things are settled down in Texas, they may continue taking donations for relief for Hurricane Irma, a category 5 hurricane.
