Windsor Re-4 School District to host mental health and wellness discussion for parents

The Windsor Re-4 School District is hosting a mental health and wellness discussion for parents

North Range Behavioral Health and the Windsor Re-4 School District are partnering to host the second annual "Start the Conversation: Let's Talk about Mental Health" event.

The first presentation night was May 2, and the second will be from 5-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Windsor High School, 1100 Main St.

Presentations will cover topics related to physical and mental wellness, including digital citizenship, mindfulness, nurturing the social-emotional development of gifted children, healthy eating for athletes and body image.

Presentations also will be given for students, and will cover topics that include mindfulness, the teenage brain and healthy relationships.

In May 2016, North Range and Windsor Re-4 partnered to host the first "Start the Conversation" event. Because the event was successful, it was expanded this year to cover two nights. This year's events are largely sponsored by grants from the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County and the Windsor Educational Foundation.

The event will begin promptly at 5 p.m., and a light dinner will be provided. From 5-5:30 p.m., parents are encouraged to eat dinner and learn more about local organizations at the Resource Fair. For more information about the event, call (970) 347-1309.
