Windsor Farmers Market to begin June 29

The Windsor Farmers Market will start at 5:30 p.m. June 29 at Boardwalk Park, coinciding with the Summer Concert Series.

The market will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday from June 29 through September 28, according to a news release from the town of Windsor.

"Town board committed to establishing a farmers market in Windsor in the 2016-18 Strategic Plan," farmers market manager Kelsey Moore said in the release. "We're pleased to have fulfilled their vision so quickly, bringing homegrown produce and goods directly to our community members."

The market will feature more than 25 vendors that will sell items including the following:

 Meat, cheese, eggs, dairy

Baked goods

 Produce

 Bath and body products

 Artisan/craft items

The market will accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program funds, according to the release. The Market Manager booth can provide details.

According to the release, Kaiser Permanente has donated reusable cloth bags to be used at the market.

Non-service animals will not be allowed in the market area but are welcome in Boardwalk Park.

The event is sponsored by Chimney Park Restaurant and Bar and Hearth Restaurant and Pub, as well as Elm Haven Fellowship, Solar City, the Windsor Downtown Development Authority and Kaiser Permanente, according to the release.
