FIREWORKS SHOT OFF AFTER BRONCOS WIN
At 4:20 p.m. Jan. 19, police were called to the 100 block of Rockbridge Court regarding someone shooting off fireworks following the Denver Broncos’ win over the New England Patriots. Police located several people in yards and on foot along the street. Police arrived at one home and observed several people in the front yards and two fireworks containers in the street. Police asked the owner of the home about the fireworks and he admitted that someone from his residence set off the fireworks, but he didn’t name the person. Police told the man that discharging fireworks in Windsor carries a $500 fine, and that if caught he would be issued a citation. Police told the man he was responsible for what goes on at his residence and asked him to see that his visitors behave. The man apologized and said it wouldn’t happen again.
WATER BALLOONS THROWN AT CAR ALMOST CAUSES ACCIDENT: At 12:20 a.m. Jan. 19, police responded to Larimer County Road 5 and Country Farms Drive on a juvenile problem. The 18-year-old driver of a pickup truck was heading southbound on Larimer Road 5 when four or five teenagers jumped out and threw water balloons at the driver’s pickup truck, nearly causing him to crash. The driver was able to keep the vehicle under control. Police were unable to locate the teenagers.
