September 12, 2015
The town of Windsor Museum will host the Colorado's 10th Mountain Division and War Time Windsor exhibit until Nov. 29 at the Art & Heritage Center, 116 5th St. in Windsor.
Colorado's 10th Mountain Division is a traveling exhibit organized by the Aurora History Museum showcasing how the division turned the tide of World War II by defeating Nazi troops in Italy.
The exhibit looks at how these elite troops trained for combat, climbing and skiing in the mountains of Colorado.
"Their critical roles in the war lead the allies to victory and left a lasting legacy of heroic actions," according to a news release from the town of Windsor.
Wartime Windsor reflects a local look at World War II.
"From victory gardens to junk drives, discover how the Windsor community rallied to support the war effort on the home front," the release stated. "Many service men and women that call Windsor home have diverse and courageous stories to tell."
