Windsor police seek info on Jacoby shooting

Windsor police announced Tuesday they want to talk with anyone who was in the area of Weld County roads 15 and 72 between 9:30-10:30 a.m. May 18 for their investigation into the shooting of John Jacoby.

The investigation into the John Jacoby shooting is continuing as officers investigate numerous tips, according to a news release Tuesday. No new information was provided.

At 10 a.m. May 18, Jacoby was found dead south of Weld County roads 15 and 72, apparently shot twice. Authorities suspect the part-time Windsor parks caretaker was cycling north on Weld 15 near the north side of town when he was shot.

On May 19, authorities announced that the FBI had joined the investigation into the killing, though authorities did not say what prompted the involvement of the federal agency.
