Windsor woman wins 11th Fargo Marathon

Windsor resident Ellie Peterson is all smiles after finishing in first place at the Colorado Marathon in Fort Collins on May 5.

Windsor resident Ellie Peterson claimed the women's championship Saturday at the 11th annual Fargo Marathon.

Peterson — who won the 2013 Colorado marathon, among other races — finished Saturday's race with an unofficial time was 2 hours, 49 minutes, 13 seconds.

David Tuwei of Minneapolis led the men's group with an unofficial time of 2 hours, 27 minutes, 15 seconds.

More than 20,000 runners are participating in five races over three days in Fargo, including the full marathon, which started inside the Fargodome for the first time since it's inaugural running in 2005.
