Greeley and much of the Front Range are in for some snow Monday.

This is not a drill. Winter is coming. And it's coming Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Greeley and other parts of the Front Range are expected to get snow Monday, marking the first snow of the season for Greeley.

The high temperature Monday is 39 degrees, so it's unclear whether snow will stick around.

The weather service reports rain and snow is likely before 8 a.m., with a chance of snow between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The chance of snow will still be with us after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. The overnight low will be 26.

Protecting plants

Based on the overnight low, simply covering plants with sheets or blankets should work. If it were to get much colder, experts recommend a heat source such as a row of Christmas lights along with covering the plants.
