Weld County Sheriff's deputies say a 25-year-old woman in custody in the Weld County Jail sexually assaulted and harassed another inmate Thursday.
According to an affidavit for her in-custody arrest, deputies believe Talissa Morgan sexually assaulted the female victim, who was not identified, in a holding cell where the victim was waiting after her court date that day. The victim later told deputies she was alone with Morgan in the holding cell and fell asleep. When she awoke, she said, Morgan was in the process of assaulting her.
The woman told deputies her assaulter threatened her if she talked, and told her to keep her mouth shut about the alleged assault.
The victim waited until Morgan had fallen asleep before getting a deputy's attention, the affidavit states. Deputies removed her from the room, and a nurse performed a sexual assault exam on the victim.
When deputies spoke to her later that night, Morgan denied touching the victim, the report states.
Court documents reveal Morgan had been arrested earlier that same day on suspicion of drug charges and driving without insurance. She is next scheduled to appear in court for those charges 8:30 a.m. Sept. 14.
