Throughout the month of April, CASA of Larimer County is partnering with businesses across Fort Collins, Loveland, and Windsor to raise awareness and support for abused and neglected children in the communities.

According to the Larimer County Department of Human Services, currently 147 children in the county are in foster care. According to data from the Colorado Department of Human Services, 1,799 children were involved in open cases of child maltreatment in 2017 and the community is seeing a rise in substantiated neglect cases.

Currently, CASA of Larimer County is serving only 37 percent of child victims of abuse and neglect with a Court Appointed Special Advocate, according to the release.

The group is in need of more volunteers and financial support to help more children in the community.
