CDOT schedules meeting in Nunn about U.S. 85 improvements

The Colorado Department of Transportation will host an open house from 5:30-7 p.m. Thursday at the town of Nunn Community Center, 185 Lincoln Ave., about soon-to-begin construction to improve U.S. 85 north of Ault to the Wyoming state line.

The $19 million resurfacing project is expected to begin the week of June 1, span two construction seasons and continue into October 2016.

Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Motorists can expect to encounter intermittent lane closures and possible traffic delays.

Construction will pause in the winter. The project will include both asphalt and concrete resurfacing, embankment, full-depth reclamation, milling, box culvert extensions, structure rehabilitation, culverts, seeding and mulching, erosion control, fencing, signing, striping and rumble strips.
