The Colorado Department of Transportation named its new director of the Transit and Rail division Thursday.
David Krutsinger, who grew up in Boulder, will replace the recently retired Mark Imhoff, according to a CDOT release. The Transit and Rail division oversees the statewide transit program, including Bustang operation and maintenance and funding for local transit projects.
The division, according to the release, is working with the Southwest Chief & Front Range Passenger Rail Commission to advance passenger rail and fixed-guideway transit concepts along the Interstate 25 Front Range and Interstate 70 Mountain corridors.
Krutsinger has more than 25 years of experience in transit and transportation, including managerial experience at RTD and serving as senior planner on many corridor studies. He received Master of Science and Master of City Planning degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Ga.
