Greeley teen facing charges for Windsor clown hoax

Staff reports

The Windsor Police Department Friday identified a 14-year-old Northridge High School student as the person who made a clown-related threat against Windsor High School last month.

According to a news release from the department, officers learned of the threat around noon Sept. 28 when a Windsor High School student told them about Facebook messages received from an unknown person. That person said they were going to come to the school and "shoot it up."

The threat came on the heels of a similar clown-related Facebook threat in Greeley the day before. It did not receive the same attention the Greeley threat did, though, with some Windsor High School students unaware their school had even been threatened.

The release said the Windsor Police Department stated the Northridge student is facing charges of interference with staff, facility or students of an educational institution, a misdemeanor. The release also said the report will be finalized next week.
