Honor Flight to temporarily stop accepting Vietnam vet applications for D.C. visit
October 1, 2016
Beginning Oct. 1, Honor Flight Northern Colorado will temporarily stop accepting new applications from Vietnam War era veterans, according to a news release. Any applications received will be returned.
There has been a tremendous response from Vietnam War veterans, creating a growing backlog of qualified applicants for the flights to visit the memorials in Washington, D.C. Once the backlog is reduced, new applications will be welcome.
Applications from qualified veterans of earlier conflicts, WWII and the War in Korea as well as those from Purple Heart recipients and verified terminally ill veterans from any conflict will continue to be accepted and be the priorities.
