One of Weld County’s most wanted taken into custody after assault
December 17, 2013
Rudy Salazar, one of Weld County's most wanted, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of multiple domestic violence incidents.
Police responded on Nov. 27 to a home in the 3000 block of 17th Avenue on a report of a disturbance between a female and Salazar, 30, who was threatening her with a crow bar after destroying the inside of the home and threatening to take a child, according to an arrest affidavit.
The woman and Salazar had been in an off-and-on relationship for several years, but had not been together since April.
She told police he used a crow bar to enter a locked door, came into the bedroom, smashed her cell phone and started yelling at her and said that if he was going to prison, he was "going to make it worth it."
He then threw her on the bed, took her makeup from the dresser and spread it all over the bedroom wall, the affidavit states.
The victim's grandmother soon arrived and called police, but Salazar left the home before police arrived.
