Staff reports

Students from around the region attended Centennial Village's Fall High Plains History Festival to learn about Colorado's history this week.

This festival has been a Greeley tradition for many years, and it is geared toward third- and fourth-grade students because it ties into their curriculum. This year, more than 2,000 students attended. Some schools from Cheyenne came to attend the event because it is similar to history lessons in that area. The festival has numerous volunteers — about half of the people teaching the children — and all have had general training and specific training to their specific station.
