This week’s Law & Order features a spooked salon and a dog on a roof

A leak in communication:

On Oct. 4 at 11:27 a.m., on the 1100 block of Main Street, an officer was dispatched to a hair salon on reports of a suspicious person. The hair stylist told the officer that two men had come to the door acting suspiciously. The first man came in asking if the salon was a counseling center. The stylist, who was cutting a woman's hair, said no. She and the client were spooked, so she locked the front door. The second man came up to the locked door "making weird gestures with his hands." She and her client hid from the man and called police. The officer found the man matching the women's description of the second man. He turned out to be a plumber repairing a leak in the wall of a nearby business and was trying to tell the stylist he was turning off the building's water to make repairs. The stylist said this explained his pantomiming of breaking a stick, which she took as a threatening gesture.

Dog on a roof:

On Oct. 1 at 6:36 p.m. an officer was dispatched to the 4000 block of Horizon Ridge Court. The officer spoke with a man who said he saw his neighbor's dog on their roof. He said he called his neighbor to alert him but he didn't answer. The officer was able to contact the dog's owner, who said when he got his neighbor's message he alerted his brother to come get the dog off the roof as he was out of town for the day. With the owner's permission the officer and his neighbor went into the house from the unlocked back door and attempted to coax and call the dog to come back inside the house, but it wouldn't. The owner arrived 30 minutes later and got the dog inside. The window he escaped through was closed and locked and the case was cleared.
