Weld voter turnout hits 48 percent on day before election

Weld County's voters came out in force in the last few days to surge turnout to 48 percent this morning.

According to the Colorado Secretary of State, 78,566 voters from Weld County have turned in their ballots as of this morning. As of Friday, Weld had 162,213 active registered voters, but that number can change daily as residents can register up to Election Day.

Here's the breakdown of Weld voters by party, compared to the number of active registered members of their party:

American Constitution: 286

Democrat: 20,233 (54 percent)

Green: 135 (36 percent)

Unity: 14 (32 percent).

Throughout the state, 1.55 million people have turned in their ballots.
