Windsor community in Blue Ocean’s corner
August 15, 2017
It seems a little ironic that the portion of the Windsor Mill building that survived the massive force of the tornado nine years ago would succumb to a different type of destruction. The dust has barely settled and remains continue to smolder as we begin to process what has actually taken place.
We "Park Place Interiors" are neighbors to this saddened site. It hasn't been that long since we opened on Main Street here in downtown Windsor and in a very short amount of time we have come to understand the meaning of community.
We are more than just shops that occupy this area of the downtown, we are friends and neighbors. We patronize each others shops and wave as we walk past the windows. We stop to visit and ask how business has been. There is a real sense of support and pride in bringing not just a refreshed look to the area, but to provide a real service to the community and surrounding area.
It's difficult when we follow the progress of a new and exciting enterprise and anticipate the good that it will do for the people of Windsor, to see it dashed without warning. I can only imagine what the people from Blue Ocean Inc. must be feeling right now, but we applaud their resolve to sift through the rubble and commit to re-fitting what's left to realize their purpose and dream.

It will take extra time and a lot of effort, but we support all those involved. We just want to let you know that we — and I believe I can speak for the other downtown businesses — are in your corner and want to be an encouragement. The upside is that what once was can be re-built and above all no one was hurt.
Best of everything to your future. We look forward to being your neighbor.
