Windsor’s Faith United Church will walk to end hunger locally, globally
September 26, 2015
Faith United Church will participate in a CROP Hunger Walk to raise funds to end hunger in the Windsor community and around the world at 1 p.m. Sunday starting at 1020 Walnut St.
The route will start at the church, go to Boardwalk Park, around Windsor Lake and return to the church, according to a news release from the church.
Approximately, 1,500 communities participate every year in the Hunger Walk.
"CROP Hunger Walks are interfaith events that build community while also making a difference locally and globally," according to the national organization's pamphlet.
In the last 25 years, CROP Hunger Walks have raised more than $300 million to help those struggling to feed their families. Up to 25 percent of the funds raised each year go to benefit the local community and those in need.
Residents interested in participating can register online at http://www.crophungerwalk.org and set up a personal page where family and friends can join the walk or sponsor the walkers.
